Brasseler provides 100,000 euros in emergency aid for victims of earthquake disaster

Internal fundraising campaign supplements emergency aid: employee donation proceeds are doubled by the company.

Lemgo, 03.03.2023 – The medtech company Gebr. Brasseler GmbH & Co. KG has donated 100,000 euros in emergency aid for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. In addition, Brasseler is doubling the donations of its employees.

In view of the severe earthquakes in the Turkish-Syrian border region in February 2023, Brasseler has responded by initiating two donation campaigns to provide targeted support for the population in the crisis areas. As the company announced today, emergency aid in the amount of 100,000 euros has gone to the organization alliance “Aktion Deutschland Hilft”. The alliance is an association of German aid organizations for disaster relief and is working with over 20 organizations in Turkey and Syria to provide humanitarian aid on the ground. Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler, former German President and patron of the alliance, said, “With your donation, you are giving people hope and a new perspective, and I thank you very much for that.”

In addition to this emergency aid, Brasseler has initiated an internal campaign. Employees’ donations for the earthquake victims will be doubled in favor of “Aktion Deutschland Hilft”.

Kirsten Niehus, shareholder of Brasseler:
„We are deeply saddened by the devastating scale of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. It goes without saying that we are joining forces to support humanitarian aid in the crisis areas to alleviate the suffering of the people.“

Stephan Köhler, management spokesman:
„At Brasseler, we are strongly value-driven and see it as our corporate and also communal duty to provide help in emergency situations. The great willingness of our employees to donate shows that solidarity is lived convincingly at our company. We would like to set an example with our campaigns and encourage other companies to get involved.“
