121 Christmas parcels, a hand puppet and a €3,000 donation for the Westfälisches Kinderdorf e. V. in Barntrup

Lemgo, 18 December, 2025

A strong sign of solidarity: Brasseler employees showed their commitment to the Westphalian Children’s Village in Barntrup in a special way during the pre-Christmas period. At their own expense, they fulfilled the children’s wish lists and packed a total of 121 gifts – more than ever before in the “Christmas parcel campaign.” The parcels were supplemented by a hand puppet that can be used in therapy sessions and a donation of €3,000 from the company for the ongoing projects of the Westfälisches Kinderdorf e. V. in Barntrup.

Personal commitment of employees

The parcel campaign thrives on the personal commitment of the workforce. Each gift was individually selected, wrapped, and labeled. The hand puppet “Ilselotte Keksberg,” which can be used as an “icebreaker” for conversations during therapy sessions, was added as a group gift from several colleagues.

Björn Hartmann

Björn Hartmann, Head of Human Resources at Brasseler:
“The high level of participation shows how strongly social commitment is anchored at Brasseler and how committed our employees are to taking on responsibility beyond the company.”

Donation instead of Christmas cards

In addition, employees are foregoing printed Christmas greetings. In this way, the Westfälisches Kinderdorf will receive financial support of €3,000 in addition to the gifts.

On-site handover

This week, the gifts made their way from Lemgo to Barntrup. Two fully loaded cars were needed to transport all the parcels. The handover was carried out by Björn Hartmann, Head of Human Resources, and Tanja Obermeier, Human Resources Team Assistant and organizer of the campaign.

Heike Krietenstein, Village Manager of the Westfälisches Kinderdorf Barntrup, is delighted: “We greatly appreciate the generous support of the Brasseler employees and the company. These parcels not only bring joy to the hearts of our children, but also show how important solidarity and community are, especially during the Christmas season. The donation will help us to continue to create a loving and supportive environment for the children. Many thanks to everyone who made this wonderful campaign possible.”

With this good news, we wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for the coming year!

About Westfälisches Kinderdorf e. V.

For more than six decades, Westfälisches Kinderdorf e. V. has been providing children and young people in need with a temporary home in the children’s villages in Dissen (Osnabrück district) and Barntrup (Lippe). In addition to children and young people, young adults and young mothers with their children also live there today. At the three locations, more than 300 children and young people are cared for by around 300 employees in residential facilities, daycare centres and other child and youth welfare services. The Westfälisches Kinderdorf association is independent. As a non-denominational children’s village organisation, it is a state-recognised independent youth welfare provider. Members, donors and sponsors help the association to shape a sustainable future for the children entrusted to its care.
