One of Lemgo’s largest employers is going to expand its premises. Work will start this summer to expand the site of Gebr. Brasseler’s at Trophagener Weg by a floor space of 6,400 m2. The global specialist in medical technology is going to invest a total sum of approx. 30 million Euros in Lemgo, of which 15 million Euros will be spent on the new building. … In spring, Brasseler is going to have an area behind its parking lot graveled that is currently still used as a field. The area is going to be turned into a parking site for 120 cars. … Brasseler has purchased the arable land with a surface of approx. 13,000 m2 with future expansions in mind. But first of all, the main focus is on the new complex at the East end of the company premises. The construction works are due to start in summer and the new building will be ready for occupation in November 2016. The new building is intended for the “Custom Made” sector, one of the youngest business units of the 92-year old company. The Custom Made sector specializes in custom-made products for major customers. This high-end production holds great potential for growth. With the new building, the Custom Made sector could grow by 50% in the medium term, which would equal 15% of Brasseler’s total turnover. What’s more, by moving into the new building at the end of 2016, the Custom Made sector is going to free extra space for the “Medical” business unit – space to develop and produce products for surgeons or orthopedists – such as saw blades or twist drills …
